I am currently a potter but in past incarnations have been a freelance Consulting Engineer and worked in such exotic places as Kyrgyzstan, China, Indonesia, Paraguay, and in many countries in the Caribbean and Central America. Prior to that I was a career "Seabee" serving as a Construction Equipment Engineer in the United States Navy. As a potter, I studied under a number of local potters including Adair Jones, Pat Bodine and Brian Nettles. I have also attended numerous short and long term seminars and workshops with such world class potters as Paul Soldner, Robert Pipenburg, Randy Broadnax, Randy Johnston, Kathy King and others. I consider Randy Broadnax to be the most important influence in my potting life and I always try to attend his workshops when he is in the area. So far I have studied his techniques in three demo seminars and two, one week hands-on workshops. I now teach pottery at the Handsboro Community Center in Gulfport.
